Sumptuous Olive

Hi guys,

Gosh it's been a while! I have no excuses really haha, so from now on I promise I'm going to be much more regular with my posting! I have quite a lot of ideas in my head that I can't wait to bring to life and I really do hope that you'll enjoy them once they come to life.

Anyway for now I thought I'd just do a quick makeup and outfit post from a birthday dinner I attended last Saturday. I was feeling something different outfit-wise since my go-to for formal occasions is a midi dress or skirt, so I thought why not change it up and wear some trousers.

I really enjoyed the look of this outfit, very classic if I do say so myself! I think what brings it all together is the camel coat, trust me when I say this is a timeless piece in a person's wardrobe and if you haven't got one yet I urge you to consider buying one. The one I'm wearing is from a seller on an app called Depop, it was £13 and yes hunny it is real cashmere. No but seriously a lot of the time if something has caught your eye, have a quick glance on eBay or depop and I guarantee with some patience and perseverance you will find the item you want for a lot less.

Now we all know I'm a professional bargain hunter so I've put the prices of everything I'm wearing below to give you an idea of the savings you can make when you hunt around.
Crop Top - River Island - £5
Trousers - Zara - £10
Coat - Unknown - £13
Shoes - Primark - £3
Bag - H&M - £7
Watch - River Island - £10
Since my crop top was olive/taupey, I decided to use a olive toned eyeshadow on my lids, in all I used 4 main eyeshadows- simple right!

Crease- Cocoa Bear by Makeup Geek (Similar- Brown Script by MAC)
- A warm reddish toned brown shade.
-With a fluffy blending brush sweep the colour back and forth in the crease to act as the transition colour.

Inner 2/3rd of Lid- Sumptuous Olive by MAC (Similar- Inglot Pearl 433 & Green shade in the WetnWild Comfort Zone Palette)
-A gold based olive green shade.
-With a damp eyeshadow brush pack shade over the lid to give an intense colour.

Outer 1/3rd of Lid- Embark by MAC (Similar- Dark brown shade in the WetnWild Vanity Palette)
-Dark matte brown
-Pack the shade onto the outer third and blend, then sweep the shade through the crease to deepen it.

-Corrupt by Makeup Geek (Similar- Carbon by MAC & Blackout by Urban Decay)
-A dark black shade.
-Using an angled brush lightly carve out the outer third of the crease and blend well into the deep brown shade.

Optional: Using a champagne gold such as Jaunty by MAC in the inner tearduct to open up the eyes.

THE KEY TO ANY MAKEUP APPLICATION IS TO BLEND, BLEND, BLEND!

Quick tip for sharp lines and to help guide where your winged liner should go, stick a piece of sellotape angled from your lower lash line upwards prior to adding your eyeshadow. Once you've finished applying eyeshadow gently peel it away and you'll have a clean crisp line to draw along for your liquid liner.

My makeup was finished off with a bold red lip- I used Ruby Woo by MAC, although we have a love hate relationship since it is so drying! I would recommend Russian Red or Viva Glam I by MAC, Spotlight Red 911D by WetnWild or  Really Red by Revlon.

I had a wonderful evening with all my girls and ate a ridiculous amount, I'll leave you with a couple pictures of us from the night so you can see how we all #turnedup!

God bless,
